Tsutomu Takada, 83, passed away at 4:50 pm Friday, February 15, 2019 at his son’s home. Tsutomu was born August 24, 1935 in Korea Peninsula which, at that time was the occupied territory of Japan as the son of Yuzuru and Fusa Takada. Tsutomu’s parents moved from Japan to Korea Peninsula, as a new frontier of Japan, seeking for better future. However, after Japan was defeated in World War II, at the age of 11, Tsutomu and his family with every other Japanese citizen in the occupied territory were order to return to Japan leaving all of their personal properties behind in Korea peninsula by the order of General Douglas MacArthur, the Supreme Commander for the Allied Powers during the allied occupation of Japan. Tsutomu settled in Osaka, Japan where he met Kayoji, his wife, and together raised their family. Subsequently, Tsutomu and Kayoji came to the United States in 1997. Tsutomu loved America so much so that he decided to stay and ultimately he passed away in the country where he loved so much. At his final months, he enjoyed being in the backyard working on gardens and viewing trees, skies, and other natural sceneries.
Tsutomu is survived by his wife, Kayoji Takada. He is also survived by his son (Kenji) and daughter in-law (Jaclyn). Two granddaughters (Audrey and Heidi).
Per Tsutomu’s wishes, his body will be cremated with no public visitation. A special thanks go to the staff at Heartland Hospice Care in Indianapolis.

Kenji and Jacklyn, along with Heidi and Audrey. We are so sorry for your loss. Tsutomu was a very kind and interesting man. I loved his spirit of life and his joy. Still am amazed in remembering him repeatedly going off the high dive. I also enjoyed going to the Bats game with him, he sure loved his baseball).
